In 1º of September of 2001, it was created in the Brazilian airspace plus a FIR, responsible for all the control of the oceanic airspace of Brazil.

This FIR was previously divided between the FIR's Curitiba, Brasilia, and Recife, that contained the next airspace to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Atlantic FIR is controlled for the Recife Center, that operates in frequencies HF - (High Frequency).

Its real frequencies are divided in two sectors:
Sector 1: 2854, 5565, 8855, 11291, 13315, 17955 khz
Sector 2: 3452, 3479,6535, 8855, 8861, 10096, 13357, 17907 khz
In virtual aviation it was implanted the following frequencies:
Main: 118,95 Secondary Mhz/: 118,60 Mhz
